The County is changing how tax records are managed. During the transition period, there will be are two different payment systems and each tax account will be assigned two different account numbers. This is a temporary situation and in the near future there will only be one payment system and one account number.

The tax account number printed on your tax bill will determine how you make your payment.

For real estate, please provide your name and property address. For personal property or business taxes please provide your name, address and driver's license number or SSN/FEIN. - online source for tax records, payment history, and more. 

Many of the features available at require that you have an online account. To register for an online account you will need the Tax Account number that is located on the 2017 billing statement in the upper right corner. If you need your Tax Account number please call Taxpayer Services 703-792-6710.


The Taxpayer Portal has been converted to a new system with expanded services. These include:
  • dog license filing and payment
  • filing of business tax returns
  • enrollment in paperless billing
  • schedule automatic eCheck payments or a series of eCheck payments for processing in the future
  • pay using a card credit card (additional fee applies)
  • setup email reminders for payments, required filings, new tax bills, and tax due reminders
  • ability to retrieve a current account statement or to calculate a balance due on a future date
  • access to copies of bills and statements both current and previously sent
  • report new vehicles or the disposal of a vehicle
  • report a change of address

Many of the features on the Taxpayer Portal require having an online account. To register for an online account you will need a Tax Account number and a valid email address. If you do not have a Tax Account number, you will need to call us at 703-792-6710. Once registered you will use your email address to login. 

While we transition to the new Taxpayer Portal, not all functions are available for all tax types. Thank you for your patience.
