Pet Owner License Information

Dog License

All dogs age four months and older must be licensed. Renewal dog licenses are purchased each year and are available beginning in November. The due date for license renewals is January 31 (see the Prince William Code Chapter 4, Article IV).

Any dog not having a license tag after January 31 will be in violation of County Code and the owner will be subject to a fine.

Dog owners moving into the County must comply with the license requirements and register their dogs at the time of the move.
