Pay Online by Debit/Credit Card

Payment of parking tickets, personal property and real estate taxes can be made online using a debit or credit card. Payments are accepted for American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

All online credit and debit card payments are subject to a service fee. The fee is based on the amount of the transaction. The service fee is paid directly to the company processing the card payment and no part of this fee goes to the County. You will have the opportunity to review the fee amount and to accept or cancel the transaction prior to authorizing the payment.

For additional details on making a payment, click pay taxes online or by telephone.

 Pay by Telephone

Credit and debit card payments for personal property and real estate taxes may be made over the telephone by calling 1-888-272-9829 and entering jurisdiction code is 1036.  Please note that a service fee applies to credit and debit card transactions. No part of the service fee goes to the County.

Follow These Steps to Pay by Telephone:

  • Have at hand a pen, paper, and the tax bill.
  • Dial 1-888-2PAY TAX (1-888-272-9829) using a touch tone telephone.
  • When prompted, Enter jurisdiction code 1036 for Prince William County.
  • Press 1 for Personal Property Tax.
  • Press 2 for Real Estate Tax.

Account numbers are listed on the tax bill - Personal Property is an eight to eleven digit number, and Real Estate (RPC) is a one to six digit number.

The system will prompt you for the information it needs to process your payment. Be sure to write down the receipt number that the system provides - in case there are questions about your payment.

Pay by Mail

For prompt processing, tax payments should be returned in the remittance envelope included with your tax bill. One check may be used to pay more than one tax bill. If paying multiple bills with one check, please include the tear off remittance slip for each bill being paid.
