Survey Monuments
Prince
William County
maintains a
monument network
that supports the development requirements established by the County. These requirements ensure data accuracy through plats and plans submitted by our developme
nt community. The monument network consists of 104 National Geodetic Survey (NGS) Blue-Booked monuments and approximately 105 supplementary monuments.
The
County Mapper
web application provides locations and description for the County's 17 high accuracy monuments. All of the NGS Blue-Booked monuments have NGS Data Sheets which are located through the
NOAA NGS Web site
. Monument description sheets for Prince William County are also available at the GIS Customer Service Counter.
