Adult Vocational Rehabilitation

HT Pictures 018 (2).JPGVocational Rehabilitation Services programs provide services for adults with psychiatric and cognitive disabilities who want to move forward in their recovery and effectively integrate into the community. Vocational Services is made up of three programs: Horticultural Therapy, Prince William Club, and the Supported Employment Program.

Horticultural Therapy

This program uses horticultural therapy principles- such as planting flowers, landscaping and gardening-to help adults with psychiatric and cognitive disabilities. Individuals learn important job skills and determine their own strengths, needs and capabilities.  Transportation to and from the program is available to individuals residing in PWC residential programs. Watch our  Horticulture Therapy video or call  703-792-4998 for more information.

Prince William Club

Prince William Club participants spend a day in various "work units" such as meal planning and preparation,  clerical tasks for area non-profits, and job search skills such as  resume writing and proper work related social skills.  The program also connects participants to various community-based employment services. Transportation is provided.  For more information about the program, call 703-792-5495.

Supported Employment

Vocational Counselors support participants in identifying, finding and keeping a job appropriate for their individual skills and talents.  This may include job exploration, job development, job analysis, on-site training and periodic off-site support or coaching while working. In addition, referrals can be made to other needed services/supports.  Call  703-792-5492 for further information.
