What is the CIP?
County code requires the preparation of a CIP, guided by the Strategic Plan, Comprehensive Plan, and Principles of Sound Financial Management. The CIP includes both County and Schools projects, ensuring one affordable plan. The FY19 capital projected expenditures for the County government is $134.5 million. Funding sources for County projects include the general fund, debt, state/federal, fire levy, stormwater management fees, proffers, the transportation reserve, capital reserve, internal service fund balance, and solid waste fees.
Established in 2017, the mission and purpose is to establish more frequent contact and collaboration between PWC School Board and Prince William Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) in order to discuss capital needs, enhance efficiency in planning processes, and improve service outcomes to the community. Founding School and BOCS members include Ruth Anderson, Shawn Brann, Pete Candland, Lillie Jessie, Frank Principi, and Loree Williams.
