Disability Services Board
Originally established in 1987 as the Prince William County Committee for Persons with Disabilities (PWC CFPD), the Disability Service Board (DSB) is an advisory group to the Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) on disability issues. Its primary purpose is to recommend to the BOCS ways the County can be more responsive to the needs of citizens with disabilities. The DSB consists of eight representatives appointed by the supervisor from each magisterial district, one local official, and two business representatives.

The DSB is constantly trying to promote public awareness of the unique problems people with disabilities must deal with on a daily basis.
Kids on the Block is an international communications program that uses puppets to depict disabled and non-disabled persons to teach children to accept and appreciate the differences among us. The puppet characters talk about issues such as being blind or using a wheelchair. If you are interested in having the Kids on the Block perform for your school or organization, call 703-792-6413.
If you are interested in helping us create disability awareness and tear down barriers, contact us. There may be a vacancy on the Committee for your district or other volunteer opportunities. Thank you for your interest.
