September is national preparedness month
National Preparedness Month is a yearly campaign that is designed to raise awareness of the need for individuals, families, neighborhoods, communities, businesses, and the nation at large, to be prepared for natural, man-made, and technological disasters.
Last year's campaign focused on the basics of building a disaster supply kit, making an emergency plan, staying informed, and getting involved. This year's theme - Disasters Happen. Prepare Now. Learn How. - expands on these concepts and offers tips & tools for emergency planning, to include financial preparedness.
