On Monday, August 6, at 7:43 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story, single-family home located in the 5000 block of Warwick Hills Court in Dominion Valley.
Upon arrival, responding units reported heavy fire conditions in the rear of the home extending into the attic. After confirming all occupants were safely out of the residence, firefighters concentrated their efforts on extinguishing the fire.
One firefighter became ill during suppression operations and was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
County police assisted with scene management.
Red Cross was requested to assist four adults that were displaced.
The preliminary damage estimate is $400,000.
Fire investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the fire was attributed to a propane grill on the rear deck.
