Trade Wind Court Fire Incident
August 22, 2013
On Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at approximately 1:38 p.m., fire and rescue units responded to a reported structure fire in the 8500 block of Trade Wind Court in Bristow.
First-arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions in the rear of a two-story single-family dwelling.
The fire extended from the rear deck into the first floor living areas and into the attic.
A resident and two firefighters suffered injuries while extinguishing the fire.
Smoke alarms did alert once smoke migrated into the dwelling.
The Red Cross responded to assist two adults and their child who were displaced.
The preliminary fire loss estimate is $240,000.00.
The County Police assisted with scene management and Forensic Services.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office.
