They were selected as the Fire and Rescue Department's Team Member of the Month for February 2014 for taking the initiative to assist a displaced family.
During a fire investigation, Captain Paul, Lieutenants Cooper and Hubbel, identified a family that did not have a place to stay, and they could not afford accommodations. Understanding the magnitude of the situation, to include the cold weather conditions and the impact of the devastating fire, they located and secured accommodations using their own funds for the family with options for additional days if necessary.
They did not hesitate to go beyond the call of duty by taking control of the situation to find a solution when one had not been determined.
Their actions exemplify the County and Department's vision and values with their efforts being emblematic of the Department's ultimate performance and personalized delivery values, and the County's vision of excellence and responsibility to do the right thing for the customer and community every time.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Chief Kevin McGee and Assistant Chief Lance McClintock congratulate the team.
