Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Fire Incident
August 14, 2012
On Friday, August 10
at approximately 4:30 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire located at 15008 Lee Highway in Gainesville.
Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews observed flames shooting from the side, rear and roof of the church as black smoke emitted from the structure.
Firefighters proceeded to attack the fire as they completed a search of the building for occupants; however, the building was unoccupied and the fire was extinguished.
No injuries reported.
County Police assisted with scene management.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
