Midy Lane Fire Incident
August 14, 2012
On Monday, August 13, at 11:07 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a two-story, single-family home located in the 4800 block of Midy Lane near Gainesville.
The resident was awakened by a smoke detector sounding and had already safely evacuated when fire and rescue units arrived.
The fire, which started in a recessed light on the second floor, was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
No injuries were reported.
A representative from the Building Official’s office was requested and responded.
The preliminary damage estimate is $50,000.
The cause of this fire was classified as accidental by the fire investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office.
