Lucasville Rd. Fire Incident
For Release
March 13, 2014
On Wednesday, March 12th at approximately 5:15 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 12000 block of Lucasville Rd. in Bristow.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units located a fire in the basement of the home.

This area is without fire hydrants; therefore, firefighting operations required the use of mobile water tankers to transport water to the location to provide water for extinguishment of the fire.

One of the two residents was home at the time of the fire and was out of the house upon arrival of fire and rescue units; no injuries were reported. Red Cross services were offered to assist the displaced family but services were not required.

Building Official posted the residence as unsafe.

A preliminary investigation conducted by the Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire was accidental.  The fire originated in the wall, near the wood stove pipe, and extended to the first floor.
