On Friday, March 22, at 9:48 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a reported structure fire located in the 2000 block of Horner Road. First-arriving units reported smoke showing from a two-story single-family dwelling. The preliminary damage estimate is approximately $50,000.00. A representative from the Building Official’s Office posted the structure as unsafe. The Red Cross assisted five adults and one child who were displaced as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported. The County Police assisted with scene management. The cause of the fire was classified as accidental by fire investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office attributed to an overloaded electrical circuit.
