Greenwich Rd. Fire Incident

On Thursday, September 12
, at approximately 4:15 p.m. a fire occurred in a stand-alone home located on the property
of 9706 Greenwich Rd., in Nokesville.
The cause of the fire was a lightning strike with extensive fire and smoke damage; estimated loss $80,000-100,000.
Rural water supply operations were required to supply fire suppression units consisting of multiple tanker response and a full fire response complement.
The home was unoccupied when the fire occurred. The tenant was displaced but did not request Red Cross.
No injuries reported.
The cause of the fire was determined as natural causes.
