Grayson Road Fire Incident

On Sunday, November 18, at 8:29 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in the 14100 block of Grayson Road in Woodbridge. 
 
First-arriving units observed smoke and fire showing from the roof of the two-story, single-family dwelling.  Firefighters attacked and extinguished the fire.  Units searched for further extension.  No further extension was found.
 
County Police assisted with scene management.
 
Smoke detectors were present and alerted residents to the fire; however, one resident was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.  No further injuries were reported.
 
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damage estimate is $150,000.00. 
 
A representative from the Building Official’s office was called to the scene and posted the home as unsafe to occupy due to the damage.
 
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
 
Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue would like to remind the public that smoke alarms save lives.
