Fort Pulaski Court Fire Incident
February 12, 2013
On Monday, February 11, at 5:01 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a middle-of-the –row townhouse located in the 1800 block of Fort Pulaski Court in the Town of Dumfries.
First-arriving units located and extinguished a working fire in a second floor bedroom.
Two juveniles were transported to a medical facility for precautionary reasons.
The Red Cross assisted one adult and two juveniles that were displaced as a result of the fire.
The Dumfries police assisted with scene management.
A representative from the Dumfries Building Official’s office posted the structure as unsafe.
The preliminary damage estimate is $50,000.00.
Fire investigators from the County’s Fire Marshal’s Office classified the cause of this fire as accidental.
