Cobble Pond Way Fire

On Sunday, September 9, at 6:56 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a three-story townhouse located in the 8100 block of Cobble Pond Way in Yorkshire. 
 
The resident of one of the townhomes smelled smoke, proceeded to investigate, discovered a developing fire, and called 911.  The fire, which started on the second floor, was quickly extinguished by firefighters. 
 
The Red Cross-assisted five adults and two children displaced from the two townhouses that were damaged. 
 
No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.
 
Preliminary loss estimate is $30,000.00. 
 
The cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
