Cobble Pond Way Fire Incident
August 28, 2012
On Monday, August 27th, at 12:15 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a three-story, townhouse located in the 8100 block of Cobble Pond Way in Yorkshire.
A neighbor first observed the fire and called 911 to report the incident.
The residents were not home at the time.
The fire started on the second floor in the kitchen area and was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
No injuries were reported.
County Police assisted with scene management.
The preliminary damage estimate is $15,000.
A representative from the Building Official’s office assessed the fire-damaged structure and posted it unsafe to occupy.
Five adults and two children were displaced.
The cause of the fire was classified as undetermined and remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
