Candidate Physical Ability Test
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) training is located at 8494 Kao Circle in Manassas. The facility opened in 2003 and was the first stand-alone facility in the country dedicated to preparing candidates for the International Association of Fire Fighters/International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFF/IAFC) Candidate Physical Ability Test.
The facility includes state-of-the-art training rooms, a full CPAT course, Personnel Section, Exercise Physiologist and meeting rooms. The Department of Fire & Rescue understands and supports the importance of preventive medicine and other wellness and fitness concepts that are continually on the forefront of growth initiatives. As a result, recent additions to the CPAT facility include the department’s annual Work Performance Evaluation and Occupational Work Hardening Programs.
