Birchdale Square Fire Incident
July 11, 2013
On Wednesday, July 10
at approximately 9:30 p.m. fire and rescue units were dispatched to a townhouse fire located in the 3200 block of Birchdale Square in Woodbridge.
First arriving units observed fire showing from the side of the townhouse.
Firefighters were informed that the occupants had safely evacuated the home and proceeded to attack and extinguish the fire.
A search for extension was conducted.
No further extension was found.
No injuries reported.
Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family, four adults and one child, displaced by the fire.
Preliminary damages estimated at $80,000.
The origin of the fire was the basement. The cause undetermined and is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
