Arrest Made in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Fire
November 30, 2012
Maurice Thomson Michaely of Haymarket, Virginia was arrested and charged on November 29, 2012 with burning or destroying a dwelling house by the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office in conjunction with County Police.
This was the result of an investigation into a structure fire at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church located at 15008 Lee Highway Haymarket Virginia on August 10, 2012.
The Fire Marshal’s Office investigation with the assistance of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) determined that the fire was intentionally set.
In the months following the fire, additional information was collected which led investigators to Mr. Michaely.
He is currently being held without bond and a court date is set for January 23, 2013.
Though there is a suspect in custody, the investigation into this case is ongoing.
