Tornadoes are nature's most violent storms and can strike anywhere at any time. Whether you are at home or at work you may have only seconds to survive. Tornadoes have hit every state in the nation - often with only a few minutes' warning. In Virginia most tornadoes occur from April to October. In 2010, 51 tornadoes hit Virginia, the second highest number on record, killing 10 people, injuring more than 100, and destroying 212 homes and 17 businesses.
If you heard a tornado warning on the radio right now would you know what to do?
