The Honorable Maureen S. Caddigan

The voters of the Potomac (formerly Dumfries) District have elected Maureen S. Caddigan to her fourth term on the Board of County Supervisors. Her colleagues elected her as the Board’s Vice Chairman for two consecutive years in 1995-1997, and again in 2004 and 2011. Prior to her election, Supervisor Caddigan served for seven years on the Prince William County School Board. While on the School Board, her colleagues elected her as chairperson for three consecutive years. She has served on the following Committees and Boards:

Supervisor Caddigan was appointed by Governor Allen to the Governor’s Joint Committee for the Study of Effective Provision of Government Services. She was appointed by Governor Gilmore and reappointed by Governor Warner to the Virginia Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (ACIR). She was appointed by Congressman Davis to the Congressional Medicare Task Force. Mrs. Caddigan remains active in community activities including membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and as a sustaining sponsor of the Dumfries-Triangle-Quantico Little League. She was selected by the Soroptimists International as Woman of the Year and as Cool Woman of the Year by American Movie Classics (AMC). She is the twice recipient of the Boys and Girls Club prestigious Woman and Youth Award and also the Richard G. Pfitzner Award. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Azalea Charities.

"I have made education public safety and transportation top priorities while serving on the Board of County Supervisors and pledge to continue to do so. We must continue efforts to provide a school system that delivers the best education for all students. Similarly, we must ensure adequate funding and proper staffing levels for our public safety organizations, thus contributing to a high quality of life for our citizens. Every effort must be made to ease the daily challenges of our commuters by programmed improvements to our road infrastructure, as well as the provision of excellent public transportation systems."
