November 3, 2009
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA . . . The State Corporation Commission (SCC) has denied the Board of County Supervisors’ request to have the evidentiary hearing regarding Dale Service Corporation’s application for an expedited increase in rates heard locally. Therefore, Prince William County residents who would like to testify may do so on Thursday, Nov. 5 at the public hearing – which will be convened at 10 a.m. in the Commission’s Courtroom, 1300 East Main Street in Richmond – or by telephone.
In order to help Prince William County residents facilitate this process, there have been two sites set up in the County for people to come to for an opportunity to testify via telephone. Senior citizens who would like assistance with dialing in to have their comments heard may go to the Woodbridge Senior Center. Please arrive by 9:15 a.m. For those who do not have access to a phone or need assistance with dialing in, residents are asked to come to the Birchdale Recreation Center by 9:30 a.m. If residents would like to call in on their own, they are directed by the SCC to dial in no later than 10 a.m. on Nov. 5. The dial-in number to participate in the hearing is 866-842-5779 and the pass code is 804-371-9406.
Public witnesses wishing to make in-person (live) statements at the public hearing concerning Dale Service’s application need to appear in the Commission’s Second Floor Courtroom in the Tyler Building, 1300 East Main Street in Richmond, prior to 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 5 and register a request to speak with the Commission's bailiff.
The SCC has stated that the audio portion of the evidentiary hearing will be Webcast. Instructions for the Webcast can be found on the SCC Web site at http://www.scc.virginia.gov/case. Information about the case may also be found on the SCC site by searching the Dale Service Corporation or the case number PUE2009-00040.
The Dale Service Corporation provides sewer service for the Dale City Residential Planned Community and adjacent parcels in the Neabsco Magisterial District and part of the Coles Magisterial District in Prince William County.
Prince William County residents who have questions about participating in the hearing via telephone at the sites set up in the County should contact Neabsco District Supervisor John Jenkins’ office at 703-792-4667.
