Information and Recommendations for Those Attending Obama Rally at Nissan Pavilion

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA . . . On Thursday, June 5, U.S. Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will hold a rally at Nissan Pavilion.  This event is being hosted by Nissan Pavilion.  Event organizers estimate that 25,000 to 50,000 people will attend.  Nissan Pavilion has seats for 25,000.

Prince William County Police will be on hand before, during and after the event to help manage traffic and crowd control.  For those who are considering attending the event, the following is strongly recommended:
  • An overflow crowd is expected at this event during the evening rush hour.  Everyone traveling in that area should expect significant delays around Nissan Pavilion and on all major arteries leading to that area, including I-66, Route 29, and the Prince William Parkway.  Carpooling is highly encouraged.
  • Arrive early if possible.  Parking lots will be open by 2 p.m. and Nissan Pavilion gates will open at 3 p.m.  The rally is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.  When parking lots are full, vehicle access will be closed and no additional vehicles may enter.  Do NOT arrive before the gates open due to the lack of parking and for security reasons.
  • Nissan Pavilion is an open-air venue.  Please be prepared for inclement weather and very warm temperatures.
  • No bags, food or similar containers may be brought into Nissan Pavilion due to security reasons.  Clear and sealed water bottles that are 32 ounces or less will be allowed, according to Nissan Pavilion’s Web site.
