Office of Housing and Community Development
Prince William County (PWC) was designated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as an 'Urban Entitlement County' beginning July 1, 1992. As such, Prince William is eligible to receive annual allocations of federal housing funds to be used for activities which benefit low- and moderate-income persons and households. PWC Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is responsible for administering County housing programs and initiatives. Included is administration of the area's annual federal HUD allocations, a portion of which goes to the independent Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
Mission Statement
To develop affordable housing opportunities and neighborhood resources for low- and moderate-income area residents by implementing appropriate policies and programs.
Customer Service Policy
We strive to offer excellent services to our community in a timely, cordial and professional manner through our efforts to improve housing and community development opportunities and resources on behalf of residents in the Prince William Area.
