Information and services are provided for infants and toddlers, birth to three years of age, who have a disability or developmental delay. Early intervention supports and services focus on increasing the child's participation in family and community activities that are important to the family. In addition, supports and services focus on helping parents and other caregivers know how to find ways to help the child learn during everyday activities. These supports and services are available for all eligible children and their families regardless of the family's ability to pay.

The Infant Information Center (IIC) is the central point of entry for Early Intervention services. The IIC helps families gain access to services from an inter agency system of providers. Services include:

  • Information and referral for families and professionals.
  • Developmental screening and follow-up.
  • Service coordination with other agencies and professionals.
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary evaluations for children who are suspected of having a developmental delay or have a diagnosed handicapping condition.
  • Development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to meet the outcomes desired by the family.
  • Public awareness about Early Intervention.
  • Training and information about Part C of IDEA and Early Intervention Services.

Parent-Infant Education (PIE) Program services include:
