You may view assessment information via the online Real Estate Property Assessment system (LandRover). Other valuable online services are located on the Prince William County eServices Web page. The most recent information on assessment changes by zip code and other general County real estate data is available here.

All real property in Prince William County, except public service properties (the property of operating railroads, interstate pipelines, and public utilities), is assessed by the Real Estate Assessments Office.

The Real Estate Assessments Office collects information regarding property descriptions, property sales, and other real estate market data. To ensure property descriptions are accurate, County appraisers periodically inspect properties to verify current data.

Real estate assessments are a matter of public record and are maintained at the Office of Real Estate Assessments and the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court at the Judicial Complex in Manassas, Virginia. Other public information maintained by this office includes sales prices and dates, legal descriptions, descriptions of the land and buildings, and a history of assessments. For each parcel, the owner(s) name, mailing address, annual assessment, and tax levy are recorded.

Public service properties are assessed by the Virginia Department of Taxation. Real property in Prince William County is assessed annually. Reports on Real Estate Assessments for PWC are available annually. The County levies a real estate tax annually on all taxable land, improvements, and leasehold interests on land. The real estate tax is the largest local revenue source.

Taxpayers who are uncertain about the accuracy of their assessment on the basis of value or equity with other properties can request a review of their property value.
