Zoning Permit Review and Approval  




 
  
A zoning approval is required before starting a use, erecting a structure or building, obtaining building permits, or obtaining certificates of use and occupancy. Applications can be submitted at the Zoning Office on the first floor of the Development Services Building, 5 County Complex Ct., Prince William, VA 22192, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
 
* Please Note: All Applications for Zoning Approvals should be submitted in person.
 
The following permits are routinely applied for on a walk-through basis (in order to receive walk-through status, applications must be submitted no later than 3:45 p.m.):

  • The amount of time needed for review varies depending on the complexity of the specific proposal, completeness of the information provided, and seasonal workload. 
  • Applicants should call 703-792-8154 before visiting the Zoning Office to verify the information required for submission, that appropriate staff is available, or to schedule an appointment.
